It grows vigorously, producing resinous flowers and high yields. Red Velvet Auto is an indica-leaning (60/40) autoflower which is a combination of a particularly sweet Lemon Cherry Gelato x Piña Açaí x Auto Kong #4. The result is a plant that has the potential to deliver big yields. Expect vigorous growth, spectacular colors, and large amounts of resin, which are illustrated by its super frosty flowers and high potency of over 22% THC. Lineage Red Velvet Auto builds from a solid base, with Lemon Cherry Gelato bringing a balanced measure of citrus and cherry to the flavor, frosty flowers, and the red coloring which dominates this plant’s visual profile. Paradise’s Auto Kong #4 provides the autoflower genetics and adds even more resin to the plant. The addition of Piña Açaí in the cross provides balance as well as a tropical twist to the fruitiness and a spicy kick. Aromas, Flavour and Effect This strain is all about the aromas. The terpene profile is a fine balance of Myrcene and Limonene carrying the smell of citrusy lemon, sweet cherry, and a hint of earthiness to the nose in the grow room. A Caryophyllene element brings the notable scent of cinnamon, which adds some spice to the Red Velvet Auto cocktail and really comes through once the buds are dried. The taste is creamy, sweet, and slightly spicy. Although this is a potent strain with high THC content, the effect will surprise consumers seeing this strain’s indica profile. Red Velvet Auto is an energizing experience, with a focused, clear effect which makes it good for social activities or getting busy on a project. Its functional aspect makes it good for daytime use, and the all-round happy and uplifting feeling gives it anti-stress and anxiety traits. Cultivation The structure of this plant follows a chandelier growth pattern that is focused around a large central bud and smaller buds radiating from the branches around it. Buds are clustered in form, resembling chunky pine cones, and the flowers are typified by the domination of reds and purples in the coloring. There are two clear phenotypes – one with more of a purple intensity, while the other has flowers that are more greenish. Indoors: Red Velvet Auto does display significant stretch, reaching between 1.2 – 1.5 meters in the grow room. The rapid growth of autos means pruning is not advised, although topping it once in the veg phase will divert some of that growth to horizontal side branches. Indoor Yield: 400-450 grams per m² Outdoors: In regions where there is optimum sunshine, this strain has the potential to grow big. For growers in more northern regions, the advice is to take advantage of the midsummer sun. The structure and a certain in-built resistance to mold make this auto a good choice for outdoor growers in more temperate cultivation zones. Outdoor Yield: 100-125 grams per plant
