Active livebearers that thrive in a 30-gallon or larger tank. They prefer clean, hard water with a pH of 7.0–8.5 and temperatures between 22–28°C (72–82°F). As omnivores, feed them a balanced mix of tropical flakes, micro-pellets, and occasional live/frozen foods. Swordtail fish are omnivores that readily eat mosquito larvae. As members of the livebearer family, they are natural insectivores and make excellent, protein-rich live food.
