The high-quality geotextile fabric air-prunes the plants’ roots when they reach the end of the container, forcing them to branch out with more fibrous feeder roots, which are much more efficient in taking up water and nutrients, leading to improved yields. Each GeoPlanter is framed with PVC to give you a rigid, framed bed for all of your planting needs. It is UV stabilized with strong marine-grade stitching for years of use in direct sunlight and requires no tools for assembly. GeoPlanter fabric raised beds can also be used with the indoor or greenhouse flood tray and rolling bench systems to maximize the use of your growing space. Benefits Of Air Root Pruning Air root pruning exposes root tips to dry air, effectively stopping the roots’ growth. This enables the plant to accommodate its established boundaries and start creating secondary feeder roots rapidly. This cycle repeats continuously, allowing more efficient water and nutrient uptake in the container garden. The overall effect is a well-developed root system grown in a fraction of the time needed for traditional planting containers. GeoPlanter vs other raised beds The GeoPlanter raised bed is a great advancement over traditional wooden-raised bed gardening with improved drainage, aeration that naturally keeps roots cool, and reusability for years to come! The PVC pipe frame helps with the ease of construction, provides support, and offers a convenient base for adding a trellis kit or cold frame above. Beside the durability, aeration, and air root-pruning capabilities, using a Geoplanter has all the benefits of a traditional wooden planter without a lot of the heavy work of building a wooden planter.
