Purchase directly from Growers HouseTwo Jobs for One Sensor, and What an Aqua-X Water Detector Misses
A leak alarm is the obvious use and the less valuable one. The useful job is watering confirmation, and it rarely gets explained. Assign the detector to a controlled output and the controller expects water at that spot when the output fires. If nothing arrives inside an adjustable window, the system raises an alert rather than quietly skipping a feed. That turns a blocked emitter or a dead solenoid into a notification instead of a discovery. There is one hard limit worth knowing before the sensor goes in. The detector cannot sense reverse osmosis water, because pure water carries too few dissolved solids to conduct. A room feeding straight RO before nutrients go in will get no reading at all. Detection depends on conductivity, so plain tap water works and finished feed works better. The set ships with the detector, a touch spot, an RJ12 T-splitter and a 16 ft RJ12 cable. Packed size is 160 mm by 86 mm.
Reverse Osmosis, Placement and How Many One Controller Takes
Reverse osmosis is the first thing to check, and the second is where the sensor physically sits. A leak sensor belongs at the lowest point water reaches, which is rarely where it is convenient to mount. A confirmation sensor belongs at the far end of the run instead, because the far end is where a pressure problem shows first. Putting it next to the manifold confirms only that the manifold works. On count, plan to twenty five detectors. Two detectors on an Aqua-X Pro also enable an auto fill function, which is a different job again. Working range is 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit at 90 percent humidity or below. An addressing button and a small display are the whole user interface.
Key Features
Job one: Leak detection where there should be no water at all
Job two: Watering confirmation on an assigned controlled output
How the alert works: No water inside an adjustable window raises an alert
Hard limit: It cannot detect pure reverse osmosis water
Why: Detection relies on dissolved solids conducting
Count per controller: Up to 25
Aqua-X Pro extra: Two detectors enable an auto fill function
In the box: Detector, touch spot, RJ12 T-splitter, 16 ft RJ12 cable
Interface: A small display and an addressing button
Placement: Lowest point for leaks, far end of the run for confirmation
