Purchase directly from Growers HouseHow the TrolMaster DSE-1 Fails in the Safe Direction
Most of a monitoring system only reports. This part actually acts on what it is told. A carbon dioxide solenoid valve plugs into the station and receives power through it during normal operation. Any installed sensor can trigger it. On a fault or a reading above the high limit, the Carbon-X drops power to the station and the valve closes. That much is expected behaviour. The second rule is the one that separates a real safety device from a convenience switch. If the station loses communication with the controller at all, its power supply is disabled anyway. A cut cable, a dead controller or a pulled plug produces a closed valve rather than a valve stuck open with nobody watching. That is failing in the safe direction and it is the correct design for a gas supply. An LED on the front shows whether the outlet is live. Addressing is set on the unit so a system can carry more than one of them.
Rating the Outlet Against a Solenoid Valve and the Supply
Numbers first. The output is rated at ten amps, which is generous for any solenoid coil and enough for a small regulator assembly. Input and output are both 100 to 240 volts AC at fifty or sixty hertz. Confirm the receptacle style against the supply up front. Working conditions are thirty-two to a hundred and twenty-two Fahrenheit with humidity at ninety percent or under. The station measures 85 by 80 by 90 mm packed and weighs 0.34 kg. In the box are the station itself, a sixteen foot RJ12 cable, a four foot RJ12 cable and an RJ12 T-splitter. One point of practice is worth stating. This device cuts electrical power to a valve, so it protects a room only while the valve is the thing holding the gas back.
Key Features
Function: A switched outlet that powers a carbon dioxide solenoid valve
Trip condition: Any sensor fault or any high reading on the system
Communication loss: A lost link to the controller also disables the outlet
Fail direction: A cut cable or dead controller results in a closed valve
Indicator: An LED on the front shows whether the outlet is live
Addressing: Set on the unit, so a system can run more than one station
Output current: Ten amps, which covers any ordinary solenoid coil
Working range: Thirty-two to a hundred and twenty-two Fahrenheit
In the box: Station, a sixteen foot and a four foot RJ12 cable, and a splitter
