ThunderVak Leaf Trimmer, Composter Plus V2.0. Nylon Cord Cutting, 0-65 RPM

ThunderVak Leaf Trimmer With Nylon Cord Cutting Two motors share the work inside this enclosed bowl machine. An upper head motor turns a crosspiece of neoprene paddles that tumble the material across a stainless steel grill. Beneath the grill, a base motor spins nylon cutting cords that clip any leaf poking through. Paddle speed adjusts from 0 to 65 RPM with a rheostat, and the cutting motor runs on its own variable control. The whole unit weighs 58 lbs and runs on 120V from a grounded three-prong outlet on a 15 A circuit. Cutting cord height is spring loaded and adjustable. A replacement set carries 8 blue round cords at 80 mm and 8 red octagonal cords at 65 mm. The red set comes installed from the factory. A drop door and removable side chute empty the bowl. The circular, closed design keeps material from spilling during the run. It is built in Canada from North American parts. Setting Up the Composter Plus for Repeatable Batches Assembly takes only a couple of minutes thanks to a quick-disconnect top. Remove stems before loading, though larger leaves can stay on. Start with a small test amount to dial in paddle speed and cutting speed for the strain at hand. Start the upper motor first and set its speed, then bring the cutting motor up gradually. The top reservoir comes off for table-top use, which turns the base into an open trimming station. Cords wear with use and slide out of their spool for a quick swap. Cleaning needs only a diluted natural cleaner, a few minutes of contact and a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, which scratch the reservoirs. Never move, tilt or rotate the machine while it runs. It should not run unattended either. Safety glasses, gloves and ear protection belong on whoever operates it. A one-year rebuild-or-replace warranty covers defects, while cutting cords and rubber parts count as wear items. Key Features Nylon Cord Cutting: Spinning nylon cords replace blades, so there is nothing to sharpen and cords swap in seconds. Dual Motor Design: One motor tumbles material with neoprene paddles while a second drives the cutting cords. Adjustable Paddle Speed: A rheostat sets the tumble from 0 to 65 RPM to suit each batch. Enclosed Bowl: The circular, closed structure keeps material inside and cuts down on handling. Table-Top Mode: Removing the top reservoir turns the base into an open trimming station. Stainless Steel Grill: A stainless grill sits between the paddles and cords and wipes clean easily. Portable Build: At 58 lbs with a quick-disconnect top, it moves and reassembles fast.
