This is Technaflora's straight seaweed product, and the label keeps it simple. The only guarantee is 1.0% soluble potash, derived from Macrocystis kelp. The species is Macrocystis integrifolia, a giant kelp hand-harvested along the coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Technaflora supplies it undiluted, so the bottle holds concentrate rather than a pre-thinned drench. That also means it must be mixed with water before it goes anywhere near a plant. The company describes it as an organic source of many nutrients, vitamins and minerals for healthy shoots and roots. It will pass a #50 sieve, a screen with roughly 300-micron openings. In practice, it goes through drip emitters, misters and fine filters without leaving sludge behind. Shake the bottle well before every use. Add it to the reservoir or watering can after the base nutrients, then check pH.
Where a Clean-Running Kelp Extract Fits in the Program
Most growers reach for seaweed to keep plants steady rather than to push them, and this one suits that job. In hydro, it goes straight into the reservoir alongside any premium soluble fertilizer. It can also be sprayed on the leaves, which helps when cold roots or a stalled root zone slow uptake. Soil growers use it as a tonic between feeds or brew it into compost teas. It is compatible with every product in the Technaflora line. Because the potash is minimal, it barely moves EC and will not upset a bloom or veg ratio. It is not a base nutrient, and plants will not finish on kelp alone. Foliar passes belong early in the light cycle and should stop once flowers are forming. The liter bottle suits a tent or small room, and larger jugs suit bigger reservoirs. Keep it capped and out of direct sun between uses.
