Super Sprouter Seedling Heat Mat 2 Tray. 12 x 48 in, 60W

Why This Super Sprouter Heat Mat Runs Long Instead of Wide Two trays end to end is a different bench layout from two trays side by side, and the shape here follows that. The mat measures 12 x 48 in and draws 60 W, which lines up exactly with a 4 ft fluorescent fixture hung above it. Being 20% larger than most competing mats, it warms both trays right out to their edges rather than leaving the far corners cold. Mats daisy chain, and up to ten connect together. That turns a bench run into one plug instead of a power strip full of them. Construction is heavy duty and it carries the Ed Hume seal. If your bench is deep rather than long, two single-tray mats side by side fit better than this. Planning a Bench Around a 12 x 48 Heat Mat A mat this long sets the shape of a propagation bench. The four foot run wants a four foot light above it, and a clear four foot span of surface. Get that right and the whole row heats and lights as a single unit. Daisy chaining is the other planning point. Ten mats on one circuit is a real load, so check the total draw before assuming one outlet handles it. Keep the mats on a solid bench rather than wire shelving, since gaps under the mat cost you heat and create uneven spots. As with any mat, media dries faster with bottom heat, and a long run means more trays drifting dry at once if nobody is watching. Key Features 12 x 48 in footprint: Warms two propagation trays placed end to end rather than side by side. 60 watts: Matches a four foot bench run, and lines up with a 4 ft fluorescent fixture. Daisy chains up to ten mats: A whole bench row runs from one outlet instead of a strip of them. Twenty percent larger than most: Warms both trays out to their edges instead of leaving corners cold. Heavy duty construction: Built for a commercial bench, and carries the Ed Hume seal of approval.
