SunBlaster T5 Light Kit | T5 HO Fluorescent Strip Light 4 ft, 54W 6400K

What Comes in the SunBlaster T5 Light Kit This is SunBlaster's longest single-tube fluorescent strip, supplied as a complete kit. The carton holds the self-ballasted fixture, the lamp, a power cord with roller switch, and mounting clips. The lamp draws 54W at 120V, and this tube puts out 4,150 initial lumens. That makes it the brightest single bar in SunBlaster's strip line, about 45% more light than the 3 ft model. Rated lamp life is 10,000 hours. The aluminum housing measures 49.3 x 3.5 x 1.5 in, sized for a 48 in wire shelf. At 6400K, the spectrum sits in the cool daylight range that keeps seedlings stocky and clones compact. One bar runs the length of two standard 1020 trays laid end to end. Hang it a couple of inches above freshly sown trays, since the tube runs cool enough to sit that close. Lift it as the first true leaves open, keeping the gap small, because fluorescent intensity drops quickly with distance. Most growers run 16 to 18 hours a day on a timer for seedlings and veg. Lighting a Full Rack With a 4 ft T5 Strip Light Commercial propagation benches and four-tier wire racks are where this length pays off, since fewer bars cover more trays. A 4 ft t5 strip light also leaves fewer dark gaps at the shelf ends than shorter bars placed end to end. Up to eight strips link from a single power cord, which keeps a whole rack on one outlet and one timer. Clip the bars flush under each shelf above, or hang them on chain where plants need more headroom. The roller switch lets you shut one strip off for a closer look without killing the whole run. Spacing matters more than people expect. Two bars about 6 in apart give a shelf noticeably more even light than one bar down the center. This is a bare strip without a reflector, so some light escapes sideways and upward. Growers who want that light pushed down usually step up to the NanoTech version of the same length. And like any fluorescent, it is a propagation and veg tool, not a light to flower large plants under.
