Sensational Solutions - Micronized Compost Tea - 1 lb

Two Ways to Run Micronized Compost Tea 1 lb The powder goes in one of two ways and the rates are not the same. Straight into dechlorinated water it runs a quarter to two teaspoons per gallon, and it can feed the room the same day. Brewed as a concentrate it goes heavier, one to two tablespoons per gallon, with an equal measure of molasses if you want one. That bucket then aerates for one to three days before it is ready. Water temperature moves the window, so a cold room sits at the longer end of it. The finished concentrate dilutes 1:30 to 1:50 for a drench or a foliar pass. One pound is a lot of either. At the lightest direct rate it carries about 528 gallons, and brewed instead it makes roughly 44 gallons of concentrate before any dilution. What a Soluble Compost Tea Powder Saves You What you are feeding is the microbial side of the medium rather than the plant directly. The blend is 28% humus, 17% kelp, 13% worm castings and 12% composted turkey manure, with the balance in other materials. Treat it as an inoculant rather than as a feed, because that is what the ingredient list describes. Micronizing is the part that shows up in the daily routine. A traditional brew leaves you a bag of solids, a strainer to clean and a fair amount of waste. This one holds in suspension and goes through, so it will pass a nozzle without the usual fuss. As an amendment the rate is a quarter teaspoon to a tablespoon per cubic foot, every three to four weeks. At transplant it is an eighth to half a teaspoon per hole, which puts a pound past a thousand holes. Key Features No strainer: Micronized, so the solids suspend instead of sitting in a bag to be filtered. Two published rates: A direct rate per gallon and a heavier concentrate rate for an aerated brew. Brew runs 1 to 3 days: Aerated, with the warmer the water the shorter the window. Concentrate dilutes far: 1:30 to 1:50 once brewed, for a soil drench or a foliar pass. About 528 gallons a pound: At a quarter teaspoon per gallon direct, or 132 gallons at a teaspoon. Humus, kelp, castings, manure: 28% humus, 17% kelp, 13% worm castings, 12% composted turkey manure. Feeds biology, not the plant: It works on the microbial communities in the medium and on the leaf. Amends about 528 cubic feet: At a quarter teaspoon per cubic foot, repeated every three to four weeks. Sized for one room: A pound outlasts a tent by a wide margin. Larger bags suit a barrel mix.
