How a Two Outlet Temperature and Humidity Controller Divides the Work
One outlet for the condition you are heating or cooling, one for the condition you are wetting or drying. That split is the whole design, and it is why this unit replaces two separate single task controllers.
Purchase directly from Growers HouseHow a Two Outlet Temperature and Humidity Controller Divides the Work
One outlet for the condition you are heating or cooling, one for the condition you are wetting or drying. That split is the whole design, and it is why this unit replaces two separate single task controllers. Each outlet has its own target, so a heater and a dehumidifier stop fighting each other for the same reading. It runs cooling, heating, humidifying, dehumidifying, or cooling and dehumidifying together. Electrically it is 120 volts at 15 A, with a total load ceiling of 2 HP across both outlets. That ceiling is the number to check first, because two large machines will exceed it long before the outlets do. Day and night detection is built in, and each period carries its own pair of set points. Operation priority is adjustable, which decides what happens when both conditions call at once. So is the shutdown delay, which is what keeps a compressor from restarting into its own back pressure.
Why the External Probe Placement Decides Your Readings
An external probe on a lead is the reason this unit reads the room instead of reading itself. A controller with the sensor inside its own case sits on a wall warmed by whatever is behind it. Accuracy is plus or minus one degree Celsius on temperature and plus or minus 3.5 percent on relative humidity. Those tolerances only hold where the probe hangs in moving air at canopy height. Put it in the middle of the space, out of the discharge of anything it switches, and clear of the lights. A probe in a dehumidifier's exhaust will hold the room far wetter than the display claims. The four equipment version of this controller is a separate unit. Anyone who needs to add carbon dioxide control needs a different model again. This one does two jobs properly rather than four approximately.
