This is the factory duct kit for the Quest Hi-E Dry 120 and Hi-E Dry 195 portable dehumidifiers, part number 4039132. It turns either unit from a freestanding machine into one that pulls and returns air through ductwork. In the box is a 10 in round duct collar for the supply side and a 12 in round collar for the return. A duct cover plate blocks off the opening the ducted setup no longer uses. Foam tape and a foam tape seal close the gaps between collar and cabinet so air goes where the duct sends it. Twelve 6-20 x 3/4 in screws and six 6-20 x 1/2 in screws mount everything to the cabinet. The installation sheet for the kit is TS-1059, written for the Hi-E series. The compatible units are the Hi-E Dry 120, Quest part 4036730, and the Hi-E Dry 195, part 4036710. Nothing else is needed from the dehumidifier side. Flex or rigid duct in matching sizes completes the run.
Why Growers Fit a Dehumidifier Duct Kit
A ducted dehumidifier can sit outside the canopy, in a hallway, mechanical closet or the plenum above. That keeps its heat and noise out of the room and frees floor space for plants. With a dehumidifier duct kit fitted, return air can be drawn from the wettest part of the room, often low and under the canopy. Dry supply air can then be thrown where airflow is weakest, which helps flatten pockets of high humidity. Keep duct runs short and smooth, since every bend and foot of flex adds static pressure and trims moisture removal. Seal every joint with foil tape so the unit is not pulling air from the attic or a wall cavity. Leave service access to the filter, because a ducted unit is easy to forget once it is out of sight. Plan the drain line at the same time, since a remote unit still needs a path for condensate. The kit carries a warning that a licensed, qualified electrician should do the work, so budget the install accordingly.
Key Features
10 in Supply Collar: A round collar on the supply side connects standard 10 in duct to deliver dry air.
12 in Return Collar: A larger return collar keeps intake velocity low when pulling room air through duct.
Block-Off Plate: Seals the cabinet opening that a ducted layout no longer uses.
Foam Seals and Hardware: Foam tape, foam seal and two sizes of screws make an airtight, secure fit.
Fits Hi-E Dry 120 and 195: Made for Quest parts 4036730 and 4036710, the two Hi-E Dry portable units.
