What the ProGuard Defender DXB 50 Is Built For The DXB 50 is the low load member of the ProGuard family. It covers up to 500 sq ft, or around 7,000 cu ft, in rooms with low humidity and a light pathogen load. Trim rooms, packaging and storage rooms, hallways and changing rooms are the intended applications. Those are the rooms that connect a facility, and they are where spores travel on clothing, carts and air between the grow rooms. The mechanism is the same ProGuard technology as the rest of the line. A UV lamp inside a titanium dioxide honeycomb cell converts humidity in the passing air into hydroperoxide vapour. That is photocatalytic oxidation, PCO. A dielectric barrier ioniser then adds clustered positive and negative ions, the BPI half of the name. Those ions carry the vapour out across the room and make airborne particles settle. This is active sanitisation because the vapour works on surfaces, not only on the air that passes through the box. It is a wall mounted unit of 7 lb, 12 in high, 12.4 in long and 3.1 in deep. Using a Trim Room Air Sanitizer to Protect Finished Flower A trim room air sanitizer earns its place after the harvest, in the weeks when the flower is cut, handled, dried and packed. Those are the rooms where a single mould spore on a bud becomes a failed microbial test. People, trays and bins move through them all day. Mount it high on a wall with the outlet facing into the room and away from the door. The vapour then has the full floor to settle over. Keep it a few feet from any fan so the stream spreads rather than being thrown at one wall. A corridor wants it at the midpoint, since a hallway is really two rooms joined. Leave it on around the clock. Suppression works by holding spore counts down continuously, and a unit that only runs during the shift gives the overnight hours back to the mould. Replace the PCO cell on a yearly schedule and the fibre pre-filters at each harvest reset. That is the same service as the rest of the ProGuard line. Keep the intake grille clear of trichome dust, which a trim room makes in quantity, because a clogged filter starves the cell of airflow. Match the unit to the room.
