PhotonTek Remote Driver + Dimming Extension Cables, 5 M Pair | IP65

Where the PhotonTek Remote Driver Extension Cable Earns Its Keep Two cables ship in this pack: a power lead for the driver and a separate lead that carries the dimming signal. Each run measures 5 m, near 16.4 ft, which is enough to put the driver on a wall outside the tent and still land on the fixture. Both ends use M19-2 self-locking connectors, so they twist on and stay closed through a season of zipping doors and raising lights. The power lead is UL SJTW 2 x 16 AWG wire rated to 300V and 105 °C. The signal lead is UL 21996 3 x 22 AWG, VW-1 rated, in the same 300V class. The assembly carries an IP65 rating and RoHS compliance across both leads. Insulation resistance reads 100 MΩ at 100V, and the pair withstands 500 VAC between any two poles for three seconds. Working range runs from -20 °C up to 105 °C, so an unheated garage in January sits inside spec. The pair weighs 1.81 lb on the shipping scale. Part number on the pack is PTEKM0019. Keeping the 0-10V Signal Clean on the Dimming Extension Cable The signal lead is the one that decides whether a fixture actually dims the way the controller says it should. Low-voltage wire picks up noise when it gets zip-tied alongside a mains run. The symptom is a light that flickers or parks at the wrong level. Route it along the opposite side of the frame from the power lead, with a hand's width between them wherever the build allows. Keep the slack in a loose coil instead of a tight loop, since a tight coil behaves like an inductor. Mount the driver on something noncombustible with air on both faces. Give the lead a strain relief at the driver end so the connector carries no weight. Pass both leads through a grommeted port, never a slit cut in the fabric. The trade-off is real: pulling the driver out of the canopy space gives headroom and takes a few degrees off tent temperature. The driver then lives in whatever dust and humidity the room has. That matters more in a damp basement than in a conditioned room. Reach is fixed, so measure the run before committing to a driver position. Plan the route once and the cables disappear into the build. Key Features Two leads in one pack: Power and signal arrive together, so the install never stalls waiting on a second cable. M19-2 self-locking ends: Both halves twist and lock, which keeps the joint closed when a fixture gets raised mid-cycle. 5 m of reach per lead: Enough run to set the driver on a wall outside the tent and still land on the fixture. IP65 and RoHS rated: Built for the dust and splash of a working room rather than a dry equipment rack. Wide thermal window: The -20 °C to 105 °C range covers an unheated garage in winter and a hot room in summer.
