Lock & Seal Lamp Cord Extension - 5 ft

Hydrofarm Lock & Seal Lamp Cord for HID Reflector to Ballast Runs The Lock & Seal cord adds 5 ft of 16/3 600V cable between a Lock & Seal-equipped ballast and reflector. Lock & Seal is Hydrofarm's proprietary waterproof plug used across the Phantom, Xtrasun, and Raptor reflector families. SKU CSXCORD5 is the 5 ft entry in a length range that scales to 15 ft and 25 ft for longer runs. The 16/3 cable handles 1000W single-ended HPS and MH lamp loads, which is the typical use case. A short 5 ft extension stays well inside HID ignitor range, so striking a cold lamp is reliable across the cord. The plug locks against humidity in flower rooms with active misting. Five-Foot HID Lamp Cord Between Lock & Seal Reflector and Ballast Growers typically place the ballast above or behind the reflector when running this length. 5 ft is too short for a remote-room install but ideal for reaching across a small flower tent. The Lock & Seal connector is not cross-compatible with Sun System, Powerbox, or Solis Tek S-plug fittings without a separate adapter. That is a real trade-off if you mix reflectors and ballasts across brands. Standard HID ignitor range fires reliably to roughly 2 ft of cord between ballast and lamp. Modern digital ballasts handle 5 ft without striking issues. Stick with a single run rather than chaining cords end to end.
