LEC 315W CMH Socket Adapter. E39 Mogul to PGZX. Ceramic MH

E39 mogul to PGZX adapter for 315W CMH retrofit The 315w CMH socket adapter lets an existing E39 mogul-base reflector accept a 315W CMH (LEC) lamp. It steps the mogul socket pattern down to a PGZX (PGZ18) base so the ceramic metal halide arc tube seats correctly. Compatible with reflectors rated for 250W to 1000W mogul-base lamps, which covers most legacy HID hoods. The unit is a passive socket converter, not an electrical converter — pair it with a proper 315W LEC ballast. That keeps the lamp inside its spec instead of running a CMH arc tube on a magnetic HID ballast. E39 mogul to PGZX adapter that turns an HID hood into a CMH hood Growers typically reach for the converter when an old 600W or 1000W HID reflector still has good optics on it. Place the unit into the reflector's existing E39 mogul socket and seat the 315W CMH lamp into the PGZX side. Pair the rig with a Galaxy LEC or Sun System 1 LEC remote ballast to drive the lamp at its rated current. On the same hood, the LEC arc tube changes the spectrum and the per-watt photon output versus the original HID lamp. Burning position matters: follow the lamp manufacturer's orientation spec so the arc doesn't migrate during warm-up. And confirm the reflector's heat tolerance — CMH runs cooler than HPS but still loads the hood at 315W. On an aging HID room, the retrofit avoids a full hood replacement when the reflector geometry is still useful. Pair the lamp with a CMH-rated socket converter from the matching brand family for predictable contact temps. Key Features E39 mogul to PGZX (PGZ18) step-down: Turns a legacy mogul-base hood into a 315W CMH-ready socket without rewiring the reflector. Built for 315W CMH / LEC lamps: Holds the ceramic metal halide arc tube at its specified base geometry. 250W to 1000W mogul reflector compatibility: Drops in across most legacy HID hoods rated for that wattage range. Passive socket converter: Carries no electrical conversion — pair with a proper 315W LEC remote ballast. Retrofit-first design: Reuses the optics on an aging HID hood instead of forcing a full replacement.
