This light draws up to 40W and runs from an external power supply rated 100–240V AC in and 19–24V DC out. Kessil's Dense Matrix LED packs many chips into one array, so the light leaves a single point and throws a strong shimmer across the water.

This light draws up to 40W and runs from an external power supply rated 100–240V AC in and 19–24V DC out. Kessil's Dense Matrix LED packs many chips into one array, so the light leaves a single point and throws a strong shimmer across the water. The color knob sweeps from 10,000K white through deep ocean blue to actinic. A proprietary UV blend in the mix helps coral color. A second knob sets intensity, and Kessil Logic keeps output steady as the color changes. The head measures 4 x 2.48 in and weighs 0.69 lb. There is no fan; a heat management system in the housing handles cooling. A 0–10V port lets a reef controller or Kessil's Spectral Controller X schedule the light. Several units can be daisy-chained to one controller. The box includes the DC power supply, two metal hooks, a bracket and two hanging brackets.
Lighting a Tank With a Reef Aquarium Light Like the A160WE
A reef aquarium light this compact suits nano and mid-size tanks, or one section of a larger system. Coverage is 24 x 24 in for soft corals and 18 x 18 in for a mixed reef. Light penetrates about 24 to 30 inches from the surface in most reefs. Mount it on a gooseneck or hang it 12 to 24 inches above the water. Start at low intensity for new tanks or newly added corals, then raise it over a few weeks. Watch for bleaching or closed polyps, the signs that light is too strong. Most reefers run the color knob toward blue for fluorescence and toward white for viewing. Two or more units side by side blend well because each is a single point source. Freshwater and planted tanks do better under the Tuna Sun version, which runs a warmer 6,000–9,000K. A mounting arm or gooseneck is sold separately.
