What Jack's Nutrients 10-30-20 Bloom Carries The analysis is 10 percent nitrogen, split evenly between ammoniacal and nitrate forms, 30 percent available phosphate and 20 percent soluble potash. That is the 1:3:2 ratio JR Peters has built blossom boosters around for decades. Behind the big three sit 0.5 percent magnesium, 0.8 percent sulfur and a chelated micro package. Iron is at 0.1 percent, manganese, zinc and copper at 0.05 percent each, boron at 0.02 percent and molybdenum at 0.001 percent. Every metal is on an EDTA chelate, so it stays available across the pH a reservoir drifts through. The sources are monoammonium phosphate, monopotassium phosphate, potassium nitrate, magnesium sulfate, boric acid and the EDTA metals, with ammonium molybdate. Those are greenhouse-grade salts, and they dissolve clean. A stock mixed at 1.5 lb per gallon holds in a tank without settling. It runs through an injector or a dosing pump without fouling an emitter. The bag is 25 lb, item 79060 in the FeED line. The job of the formula is the bud set week. The program puts 10-30-20 in for one week at the start of the 12 hour photoperiod, at 150 ppm of nitrogen. That is 31.6 mL of that stock per gallon. The phosphate surge lands when the plant is deciding how many sites to set, and the potash carries the stems that will hold them. The bag works in hydro, coco, soil and soilless media alike, by hand or through irrigation. It is inorganic and not OMRI listed. Running a Bud Set Fertilizer Through the Flip A bud set fertilizer earns its week by timing, and the timing starts the day the lights go to twelve hours. Mix the stock in warm water, salts into water rather than water onto salts, and let it clear before it goes near an injector. Run it for that first week of flower at the program rate and then hand the room back to the base feed. A week is the dose. Phosphate held high for longer than that locks out zinc and iron and shows as pale new growth on a plant that should be stacking. Keep the reservoir EC where the program puts it for bud set, around 1.9 mS, and let the formula change the ratio rather than the strength. Check pH after mixing, every time. A phosphate-heavy feed pulls the solution acidic, and the number after the salts are in is the number that matters. Mix it in its own tank if the room runs a two-part program. A calcium stock meeting a phosphate stock at full strength throws a white precipitate that no filter forgives. Feed to a small run-off and watch the run-off EC against the feed EC. A gap that opens over the week means salt is building in the media and the next irrigation wants more drain. Store the open bag closed, dry and off the floor. These salts draw moisture from the air, and a bag left open in a wet room sets hard by the next cycle. A scoop and a scale beat a cup. A full bag of salt is a lot of cycles, and a drifting scoop drifts every one of them. Key Features 10-30-20 analysis: Nitrogen split ammoniacal and nitrate, phosphate at 30, potash at 20. Chelated micros: Iron, manganese, zinc and copper on EDTA, with boron and molybdenum. Bud set week: One week at the start of the 12 hour photoperiod, 150 ppm N. Fully soluble: Greenhouse salts that clear in the stock tank and run through injectors. Any medium: Hydro, coco, soil and soilless, by hand or through irrigation. 25 lb bag: JR Peters FeED item 79060. Inorganic salts: Greenhouse grade, not OMRI listed.
