Somebody is sealing buckets or mylar bags today and wants them to be worth opening in five years. Moisture control does nothing about that problem. Oxygen drives oxidation, color change and aerobic spoilage. A humidity pack will not touch a molecule of it. A sachet is rated by the oxygen it consumes rather than by the container it goes into. At 2000cc this one handles roughly 2.5 gallons of leftover air, because only about 21% of trapped air is oxygen to begin with. Thirty ship in each foil barrier bag with one oxygen indicator card, and the case holds 18 bags for 540 doses. That is enough to see a long-storage program through several seasons of packing.
Oxygen Absorbers for Food Storage, Used the Way They Should Be
How you use them matters more than which one you pick. Work out the residual air in the sealed package first, then take 21% of it, and size from there. Open one barrier bag at a time and use all thirty, because the reaction starts the moment air reaches them. Drop a sachet in, seal the container properly, and leave it. The indicator card in the bag reads pink at low oxygen, blue when oxygen is present, purple in between. None of it counts without a real barrier around the package. That means Mylar or foil laminate, a metal can, gasketed glass, or a lined pail. Plain poly bags, paper and unlined buckets leak air back in faster than the sachet can take it out. And the reaction runs one way only, so a spent sachet gets replaced rather than dried out and used again.
Key Features
2000cc of Oxygen Per Sachet: A capacity rating, sized against leftover air rather than container volume.
Covers About 2.5 Gallons of Air: Roughly 9,500cc of void, which is a five-gallon pail at normal fill density.
540 Sachets Per Case: More doses per case than the higher capacities give, wherever 2000cc is enough.
Thirty Per Barrier Bag: A smaller sachet than the 4000cc, which fits mid-size pouches more easily.
Oxygen Indicator Card in Each Bag: Pink reads oxygen-free and blue reads oxygen present, so a bad seal shows up.
Removes Oxygen, Not Moisture: This is not a humidity pack and does nothing to relative humidity.
Needs a True Barrier Container: Mylar, foil laminate, a gasketed jar or a lined pail; a plain poly bag will not hold.
Self-Activating on Contact With Air: No priming step, which is also why the open window is short.
Single Use: Capacity is finite and the reaction is one-way, so a spent sachet gets replaced.
Step Up If You Fall Between: A 2800cc sachet covers packages sitting between this and the 4000cc.

How Do You Choose Between 2000cc and 4000cc?
By leftover air. Work out the void in the sealed package, take 21% of it, and pick the sachet rated at or above that figure.
What Container Does One 2000cc Sachet Serve?
About 2.5 gallons of trapped air, which is a five-gallon pail at normal fill. A half-empty pail leaves more void and needs the 4000cc.
Is This the Same as a Humidity Pack?
No. A Boost pack holds relative humidity at a setpoint. This removes oxygen and does nothing to moisture. They solve different problems.
How Fast Must They Be Used After Opening?
Quickly. They start absorbing the moment the barrier bag is cut, so stage your packages first and open one bag at a time.
