Hydrofarm Net Pot, 6 inch Black Mesh Basket, Pack of 50

6 Inch Net Pots: Fifty Black Mesh Baskets From Hydrofarm This bag holds fifty 6-inch net pots from Hydrofarm, black plastic baskets with an open mesh grid on the sides and bottom. Each pot measures 6 inches across the top and stands about 4.5 inches tall. A wide lip runs around the rim, so the pot hangs securely in a lid cutout and is easy to lift. The mesh does two jobs. It drains evenly, so media never sits waterlogged at the bottom of the pot. It also lets roots grow straight through into the reservoir, tray or slab below. Fill them with clay pebbles, rockwool, coco or a mix, depending on the system. Black plastic blocks light at the rim better than clear or white cups. The whole bag weighs just under 5 lbs. Rinse and sterilize them between runs, and the same pots go back into service. Where Six-Inch Net Cups Fit in a Hydro Setup Six-inch net cups are the standard size for single-plant deep water culture buckets and recirculating bucket systems. The wide base holds enough clay pebbles to anchor a large plant once roots reach the water. Set the pot so the bottom sits just above the reservoir surface at the start. Roots bridge that gap within days once a transplant settles in. They also work in flood tables and drip trays where you want to move plants without disturbing the root mass. For rockwool starts, set the cube in the center and backfill around it with pebbles. Rinse clay media well before filling, because dust clogs pumps and air stones. Fifty pots covers a full room of buckets with spares left over. It also covers a season of replacements for pots that crack or get cut free at harvest.
