Hydrofarm Black Hatch Zipper Door | 57.5 x 96 in, Lightproof

How the Black Hatch Zipper Door Seals an Opening The panel measures 57.5 in wide by 96 in high, which covers a standard doorway opening with border to spare. Borders are made to take tape, so the panel bonds to drywall, timber or poly sheeting rather than needing a frame. The zipper itself is a light-blocking type, and a heavy fabric flap lies over it on the reflective face. Two barriers at the one place a zipper would otherwise leak. The interior surface is reflective and the exterior is black, so the silver side faces into the grow area on install. Fabric is professional grade and the construction is described as insulative, which helps hold a set room temperature. The whole panel weighs 4 lb and ships folded in a 24 x 34.3 x 0.8 in carton. Part number is BHZD, with barcode 638104019965 on the sleeve. Trim is not required and nothing needs to be cut. The panel is sized to be taped at the height that suits the opening. Where a Grow Room Zipper Door Goes In Three jobs come up again and again. Dividing one room into two with a poly wall and needing a way through it. Pulling a wooden door off its hinges to recover the floor area the swing was eating. Cutting an entrance into a frame-and-film enclosure built on site. In all three the failure point is the perimeter rather than the panel, so clean and dry every surface before the tape goes near it. Dust on drywall is the usual reason a seal lets go a month later. Work the panel from the top down with a second pair of hands, because eight feet of fabric is awkward to hold square alone. Check the seal with the room lights off and the hall lights on, looking from inside. Any line of light you can see is a line a plant can see. The honest limit is that a zipper is a moving part on a sealed envelope, so run it slowly and keep grit off the teeth. Key Features 57.5 x 96 in panel: Covers a standard opening with border left over for taping. Tape-friendly borders: Bonds to drywall, timber or poly sheeting without building a frame. Light-blocking zipper: A fabric flap lies over the zipper on the reflective face for a second barrier. Reflective interior: The silver face goes inward and puts stray light back into the canopy. No swing clearance: Taking the place of a hinged door recovers the floor the swing used. Insulative build: Helps a sealed room hold the temperature the controller is asking for.
