GrowoniX Premium KDF85/Catalytic Carbon Filter 2.5 x 9.75 in

GrowoniX KDF85 Catalytic Carbon Filter for Chlorine and Chloramine The GrowoniX KDF85 catalytic carbon filter is a 2.5 x 9.75 in replacement cartridge that packs two media into one housing. KDF85 uses high-purity copper-zinc granules and a redox reaction to strip chlorine, dissolved metals, scale, and hydrogen sulfide, the source of rotten-egg odor. Its bacteriostatic action holds back microorganism growth inside the cartridge. The highly reactive catalytic carbon is extremely porous and long lasting. It tackles the chloramine that ordinary carbon leaves behind. The cartridge is rated for roughly 8,000 gallons of chlorine or chloramine removal, or about 2,500 gallons of RO water at a 2:1 ratio. Plan to swap it near that mark, or sooner if a chlorine taste returns. A Reverse Osmosis Pre-Filter That Protects Your Membrane Chloramine is the weak point for standard carbon, which clears only about 60 to 80 percent. Catalytic carbon reacts harder, so more chloramine comes out before the water reaches the membrane. That matters on city water dosed with chloramine. It matters even more on well or spring water, where iron and sulfur foul RO membranes fast. Stage this cartridge as the carbon step ahead of the membrane. It fits GrowoniX EX100, EX200, and EX400 units, the GX150, GX200, GX300, and GX400 systems, their KDF variants, and the Mini Scrub. Key Features Dual media: Combines KDF85 and highly reactive catalytic carbon in one 2.5 x 9.75 in cartridge. Chlorine and metals: KDF85 redox media removes chlorine, scale, and water-soluble metals like iron, lead, and mercury. Chloramine removal: Catalytic carbon reacts where standard activated carbon falls short on chloramine. Hydrogen sulfide: Cuts the rotten-egg odor that plagues many well and spring-water sources. Bacteriostatic action: Controls microorganism growth inside the cartridge between changes. Capacity: Rated for roughly 8,000 gallons of chlorine or chloramine removal, or 2,500 gallons of RO water at 2:1. RO membrane protection: Pre-treats feed water so chlorine, chloramine, iron, and sulfur don't foul the membrane. Wide compatibility: Fits GrowoniX EX100/200/400, GX150/200/300/400, their KDF variants, and the Mini Scrub.
