A UV sterilizer treats the output, and a pair of liquid-filled stainless steel gauges flag when the pre-filters need a change. A manual flush valve purges salts off the membrane to extend its life. Tall Pre-Filters, UV, and Hands-Off Shutoff Tall pre-filters carry twice the media of a standard EX1000, for 34,000 gallons of chlorine capacity. This unit ships with standard coconut carbon, which handles chlorine. For chloramine on city water, or iron and hydrogen sulfide on well water, step up to the KDF85 carbon filter.
