Grower's Edge Clamp Clips, Large 1-3/4 in. Pack of 12

Where Large Plant Clips Beat the Small Size A clip only works if its jaw actually reaches around what you are holding. The small clip covers seedlings and thin branches, and it stops being useful the moment a stalk thickens past an inch. This is the size that takes over from there. The jaw opens to an inch and three quarters. That handles a mature main stem, a bamboo cane, or a stake with a trellis line already crossing it. Spring tension comes from stainless steel, so the bite holds through months of humidity without corroding at the pivot. The shell is a weatherproof plastic that stays flexible outdoors rather than going brittle after one season. Grip pressure rather than a cinched knot is the whole point of the design. A stem under a clip keeps room to expand, which is what a tie takes away. Growers who lose plants to girdling are usually losing them to something tied in week two and forgotten. Using Plant Support Clips Through a Full Cycle The honest use case is late veg and flower, when weight starts working against the plant. A cola that doubles in mass over three weeks will lean, and a leaning branch either breaks or shades its neighbour. Clipping the stalk to a stake at 2 or 3 heights spreads that load instead of concentrating it. The same clip pins trellis netting where it needs to stay, which keeps a scrog panel flat while branches fill in. On bamboo-to-bamboo joins, the larger jaw wraps both canes where the small size cannot. Twelve clips per bag suits a single tent, and cases of 576 cover a commercial room. A mixed inventory of both sizes is normal, because a plant needs the small clip in week two and this one in week eight. They release with one squeeze and go back in the bin at teardown. One caution applies to any clip: left in place for months on a soft stem, the jaw can leave a mark. Moving a clip up the stalk once mid-cycle avoids it entirely. Key Features One and Three Quarter Inch Jaw: The larger opening reaches around mature main stalks, bamboo canes and doubled trellis lines. Stainless Steel Spring: Tension survives months of humidity in a flower room without corroding at the pivot point. Weatherproof Shell: The plastic body handles UV, condensation and outdoor weather without turning brittle in a season. Grip, Not Cinch: Spring pressure lets a stem thicken underneath instead of girdling it the way a fixed tie does. Load Spreading: Clipping a heavy cola at two or three heights distributes weight rather than stacking it on one point. Trellis Anchoring: The same clip pins netting to a stake and keeps a scrog panel flat while branches fill in. Reusable Season to Season: One squeeze releases the clip, and a rinse at teardown returns it to the parts bin. Twelve Per Bag: A bag outfits a tent, while full cases of 576 cover a commercial room in one go.
