A stainless steel clamp locks over the rim of any standard 5 gallon bucket, and the trimming head sits on top. Dry flower loads from above, so you watch every bud the whole time it trims. A power drill fitted to the 3/8 in hex shaft turns the tines across a slotted trim plate. Patented top and bottom blades below the plate clip sugar leaf as buds roll over the slots. Clippings drop straight down into the bucket for easy collection. Processing tops out at about 4 lbs of dry flower per hour. The unit suits home harvests of around 15 lbs per season. Trimming parts are made from food safe 316 surgical stainless steel along with HDPE seats. Assembled, it measures 14 x 12 x 12 in and weighs about 10 lbs. Integrated bucking hooks on the clamp strip buds from the stem before they go into the trimmer. Speed, direction and how close the trim gets all stay under your control at the drill trigger. GreenBroz covers the unit with a 3 year warranty, and it is made in the USA.
Getting a Clean Finish From a Bucket Trimmer
Snap the clamp onto the bucket rim, squeeze the handles together and turn the latch to lock it. Drop the internal bucket into the clamp so the threaded studs pass through their slots. Fit the bottom blade first, then the top blade facing the opposite way. Set the trim plate over them and secure it with the wing nuts. Slide in the shaft with the tines resting on the plate. Chuck the hex shaft into your drill, keeping it straight, and seat it fully in both plastic seats. Load a modest handful of dry buds and run the drill clockwise. Keep the speed low, ideally between twenty and forty revolutions per minute. Higher speeds risk damage to the machine and to the flower. Stop once the buds look clean, then lift them out and load the next batch. Never reach into the trimming area until the drill is detached and set aside. Tie back long hair and keep loose sleeves or jewelry clear. The whole head breaks down by hand for cleaning without tools. Stainless parts can go in the dishwasher, while plastic seats are best washed with soap, water and a rough sponge.
