What a Dutch Crown Device Does, and What It Does Not
Crowning is the last physical step in making a cone, and it is the closing of the open end after filling. This tool does a hundred of them at once, which is the whole reason it exists at commercial scale.
Purchase directly from Growers HouseWhat a Dutch Crown Device Does, and What It Does Not
Crowning is the last physical step in making a cone, and it is the closing of the open end after filling. This tool does a hundred of them at once, which is the whole reason it exists at commercial scale. It is not a filling machine and it does not seal anything with glue or heat. The part number here is F01-KB100, and Futurola's KB100 line is built around the Knockbox 100, which fills a hundred cones in about two minutes. Six sizes exist as separate part numbers: 60 mm and 70 mm mini, 84 mm standard, 98 mm slender, 98 mm slim and 109 mm standard. This is one size rather than a choice of six, so check the length first. The function is a hundred crowns per cycle.
Matching the Tool to Your Pre-Rolled Cones
Pre-rolled cones come in fixed lengths and diameters, and a crowning tool is cut to one of them. Choose the size that matches the cone you actually run, because a longer tool leaves too much paper and a shorter one crushes the shoulder. The Knockbox 100 it pairs with handles cone diameters of 18, 24, 30 and 36 mm. It comes as a base with a controller, a power adapter, a filling kit and a mix tray. Its cycle is adjustable between sixty and ninety seconds depending on the density you want. So the realistic throughput of a line is the fill cycle plus the crowning pass, not the crowning alone. Plan the bench around the tray, since the tray is what carries a hundred cones from one station to the next. Keep one tool per cone size rather than trying to make one do two jobs. Anyone filling by hand in small batches will not get the value out of this, and a hand crowner costs a fraction. It is a production tool for a line that already runs full trays. At that scale it removes the slowest manual step in the room.
