FoxFarm Bush Doctor Wholly Mackerel (3-1-0) – 1 Pint

What Wholly Mackerel Brings to Young Plants Seedlings and fresh transplants are the two stages where a plant has more root than it can use and less leaf than it needs. This is written for exactly that window. The analysis reads 3-1-0, which is nitrogen forward with a little phosphorus and no added potash. That shape suits vegetative growth rather than flower, and the product is used from seedling through to early fruiting. It is a liquid plant food derived from fish. The nitrogen arrives in organic forms that the soil has to work on rather than as a raw salt. FoxFarm registers it as a CDFA Organic Input Material. The effect growers notice is steadier growth on young plants. A strong synthetic feed at that stage tends to surge and then stall. Using a Fish Fertilizer as a Drench The rate is one tablespoon, which is 15 millilitres, per gallon of fresh water. Drench the soil thoroughly rather than wetting the surface. The point is to get it into the root zone where biology can work on it. Repeat every other week through the vegetative cycle and stop in early fruiting. Three things are worth knowing before the first bottle. Shake it properly, because a fish based product separates on the shelf. The strength at the top of the bottle is not the strength at the bottom. Expect a smell for a day or so after each application. That is normal for anything derived from fish, and it is the honest trade here. And keep it off a hot shelf, since heat shortens the life of an organic liquid faster than anything else. Used on schedule, it is a simple way to carry seedlings and transplants without reaching for a synthetic. Key Features Three One Zero: Nitrogen forward with a little phosphorus and no added potash, which suits vegetative growth. Derived From Fish: The nitrogen arrives in organic forms that soil biology works on rather than as a raw salt. One Tablespoon Per Gallon: Fifteen millilitres in a gallon of fresh water, applied as a thorough soil drench. Every Other Week: The schedule runs fortnightly through vegetative growth and stops at early fruiting. CDFA Registered: FoxFarm registers it as a California Department of Food and Agriculture Organic Input Material. Seedlings And Transplants: It is written for the stage where a young plant is building leaf on a root system it already has.
