This is one three-gallon FloraFlex QuickFill in the standard plastic wrapper, supplied as a single bag. Inside is a compressed coco peat blend, the fine pith of coconut husk, washed to an EC below 0.6 by the Dutch 1:1.5 method. It is CDFA and OMRI certified organic. Every batch is tested for heavy metals and marked with a laser-printed batch number. The PE plastic wrapper keeps the sides sealed, which slows evaporation compared with the mesh O2 version. Each bag comes pre-drilled with a center hole for a 40|40 plug or small plant. Two smaller holes take micro drip stakes. A single bag makes sense for testing the format in one spot before committing to cases. It also covers a replacement when one site on a table fails. Growers filling a full room will find the case of ten easier to stock.
Expansion Timing and Crop Steering in the Three-Gallon Size
The three-gallon size takes longer to expand than the one-gallon bags, so plan the table setup around it. FloraFlex recommends its 2-Way Micro Dripper Assembly at 0.3 GPH per stake. Expect roughly two to two and a half hours of irrigation to reach full expansion. Mix that first reservoir as a complete early-veg feed with calcium and magnesium rather than plain water. Set the plug in the center hole once the block is about halfway up, then pull loose coco around it. The fixed 60% water holding capacity is what makes crop steering with these bags repeatable. Every bag holds the same volume of solution after an irrigation, so drybacks track across the whole table. The larger volume also buffers mistakes better than the one-gallon size. That extra margin helps in rooms where an irrigation event occasionally gets missed. A sealed wrap and a bigger block means slower drybacks, so start with fewer events than you would run in O2 bags.
