What the TrolMaster ECS-2 Cable Set Actually Connects
A control cable is only useful if it ends in the connector your driver actually has. That is the whole job here, and it is why this set exists as its own part number.

A control cable is only useful if it ends in the connector your driver actually has. That is the whole job here, and it is why this set exists as its own part number. The 16 ft RJ12 cable carries the dimming signal out from a Hydro-X lighting adapter. The 4 ft cable converts that RJ12 end into a female barrel connector, which is what a pigtail wired driver expects. The T-shaped splitter is the piece that turns one adapter output into a run of fixtures. Lights then chain one to the next and back to the adapter, rather than each needing its own home run. The kit comes as three items, and the packaged set weighs about 0.18 kg. Package dimensions are 156 mm long by 83 mm wide. Nothing here is powered, so there is no voltage to match and no fuse to check. It carries signal only, and the driver keeps doing its own switching.
Which LED Drivers It Fits, and What to Check First
Most drivers with a low voltage dimming input will take this cable with nothing in between. TrolMaster describe the fit as most pigtail wired units. The connector on your own fixture is therefore the thing to look at. Pull one light down, inspect the dimming leads, and compare the barrel before committing a whole room to it. A mismatch here is not dangerous, it is just a cable that will not seat. The other thing worth planning is run length, because a chain adds up faster than people expect. One splitter per fixture and 20 ft between lights turns into a lot of cable in a wide room. Adding signal cable later is easy, but pulling it through a finished ceiling is not. Use the ECS-3 instead where the fixtures are Fluence units with threaded waterproof connectors. Growers pairing Hydro-X with HID ballasts do not need this at all, since those take a different adapter entirely. The set carries no electronics, so nothing can fail in it other than a crushed connector.
