EcoPlus Eco Air 4 Air Pump | 4 Outlets, 253 GPH, 6.5 Watt

EcoPlus Eco Air 4 Four-Outlet Air Pump This EcoPlus pump pushes 253 gallons of air per hour, about 16 liters a minute, through four outlets. It draws only 6.5 watts, so it can run around the clock without adding much to the power bill. Inside is a dual-chamber oscillating design that feeds all four outlets. The pump runs oil free, so nothing contaminates the air going into a reservoir. A double dampening system cuts vibration and keeps it quiet on a shelf or bench. Each outlet takes standard airline tubing to an air stone, and the pump also feeds air dividers with four to twenty-two outlets. The housing measures about 8.6 x 6 x 4.3 in and weighs around 2.7 lb. Growers use it to oxygenate nutrient reservoirs, deep water culture buckets and cloning systems. It works just as well for aquariums, ponds and fish tanks. EcoPlus backs it with a one-year warranty. Setting Up a Hydroponic Air Pump A hydroponic air pump keeps dissolved oxygen high so roots in solution don't suffocate. Run one line to an air stone in each bucket or reservoir, and size the stones to the container. Place the pump above the water line, or fit a check valve on each line. That stops water from siphoning back into the pump if the power cuts out. Keep tubing runs short and free of kinks, since every bend and extra foot cuts airflow. With all four outlets in use, the pump splits its output across the lines. For more stones, add a gang valve or air divider to balance flow to each one. Set the pump on a folded towel or foam pad to soak up the last of the vibration. Run it continuously, because roots in deep water depend on that steady oxygen supply. Rinse air stones every few weeks in a mild cleaner, as clogged stones choke output. Check the tubing for brittle spots and replace it between crops.
