Inside the Lo-Flo NDS End Kit, and Why the Check Valve Matters This is the closing section of a three quarter inch Nutrient Delivery System. Twelve line items make it up, and two of them do the real work. The first is the mixing chamber, where concentrate and water blend into one solution. The second is a 1/2 in check valve, and that part is what sets this kit apart from the larger one. Concentrate arrives from the doser through a 1/4 in barb fitting threaded into 1/2 in NPT. The check valve sits behind it, so solution under pressure cannot push back up the injection line. Around those two sit five 3/4 in nipples, a 3/4 in tee, and a reducer nipple stepping 3/4 in down to 1/2 in. A separate pressure gauge tee carries the gauge itself, so working pressure stays visible. A Banjo ball valve isolates the section without draining the main. A union lets it be broken apart for service instead of cut out. A hose adapter and a roll of thread tape finish the kit. Nothing in it is electronic, which is the whole difference from a Monitor Kit. What a Dosing System Plumbing Kit Has to Do at the End of a Line There are three jobs at this position and this kit covers all of them. Blend the concentrate, protect the injection line from backflow, and show the working pressure. Anything beyond that belongs to the Monitor Kit, which adds a meter for pH, conductivity and temperature. Choose between the two on how readings actually get taken. A sample port and a handheld meter make this the simpler and less costly end of the line. Size matters more here than people expect. This is the Lo-Flo build, and that series runs from 0.05 to 14 GPM at 4.3 to 85 PSI. The Hi-Flo version runs one and a half inch line to 40 GPM at up to 116 PSI. It also uses a cross instead of a tee and carries no check valve, so the parts lists really do differ. This kit ships at 6 lbs against 9 lbs for the larger one. Equivalent fittings are sometimes substituted, with the same function.
