Ingredients are poultry manure, fish tankage and Ascophyllum nodosum kelp, so the nitrogen releases slowly as soil life breaks it down. In established beds, Cyco calls for 32.8 oz per 100 sq ft every six to eight weeks. At planting, drop about 1.75 oz into the base of each hole and cover it with a little soil before the root ball goes in. That buffer keeps fresh manure from sitting directly against young roots. Potted plants take roughly the same amount per 8-inch pot as a top-dressing, repeated every three to six weeks. For super soil, the rate is 14 oz per 35 cu ft, mixed through before the batch cooks. Scratch top-dressings in and water them through, since granules left on a dry surface do very little. It carries a farmyard smell. That is worth knowing before spreading it in a small indoor room.
