Common Culture Yellow Sticky Glue Traps for Early Pest Detection These are flat yellow glue boards, ten to a pack, each measuring 10cm x 25cm with a printed counting grid across the face. A peel-off liner keeps the high-tack adhesive clean until the moment you hang the board. The yellow is the working part. Aphids, whiteflies and leaf miner moths read that shade as fresh foliage, fly in, and stay stuck. Thrips, fungus gnats, fruit flies and leaf miner flies turn up on the same board. That makes it a broad first look at what is moving through a room. Common Culture says the colour matrix is tuned to raise pest catch while drawing in fewer beneficial insects. For monitoring, the maker's rate is one board per 200 m², checked weekly from the start of the crop. For mass trapping it rises to one board per 20 m², with extra boards packed into hot spots. Hang each one vertically with its base about 10 cm above the canopy, and raise it as the plants stretch. Swap boards after 6 to 8 weeks, or sooner once the glue is crowded with bodies. Reading Yellow Sticky Traps Week to Week in a Grow Room A single board tells you little, but a row of them read on the same day each week shows where pressure is building. Most growers clip the first boards near doors and intake vents, since winged aphids and whiteflies tend to ride in on outside air. Extension scouting guides run denser, at three to four cards per thousand square feet. That tighter spacing suits a room you are trying to keep clean. Count the grid squares, write the numbers down, and a jump from one week to the next shows up before the leaves do. Fungus gnats are the exception to vertical hanging. Lay a board flat just above the media surface and the adults hatching out of wet substrate will find it. Dust, pollen and leaf litter dull the glue, so a dirty room uses up boards faster than a clean one. Pull boards for a day or two after releasing parasitic wasps, because the yellow catches those as well. Thrips land here too, though counts tend to run low for them, so a quiet board is not proof the room is free of thrips. Hold each board by its edges while hanging it, since glue on a glove ends up on the next leaf you touch. Key Features Ten boards per pack: Enough surface to cover several monitoring stations and still keep spares for a mid-cycle swap. Printed counting grid: The grid turns a weekly glance into a number you can log and compare from one check to the next. High-tack adhesive under a peel-off liner: The glue stays clean in storage and only goes live when the liner comes off at the bench. Yellow colour matrix: Pulls in aphids, whiteflies and leaf miner moths, with thrips, fungus gnats and fruit flies caught along the way. Monitoring or mass trapping: The same board serves as a light early-warning station or a dense trap line in a hot spot. Canopy-level hanging: Hung just above the tops and raised with the crop, each board stays in the flight path of pests.
