Common Culture Yellow Sticky Glue Roll for Whitefly and Aphid Lines This is a continuous yellow sticky tape wound on a cardboard-flanged core, built for running trap lines down whole rows instead of hanging single cards. Each roll carries 100 m of tape, offered here in 15 cm and 30 cm widths. Common Culture selected the yellow to maximise catch of whitefly species, the glasshouse whitefly included. Aphids come to it just as readily. Thrips, fungus gnats, fruit flies and leaf miner flies end up on the same tape. Because the trap is one unbroken band, it works as a physical screen as well as a lure. Insects crossing the line on their way down a row meet glue rather than a gap between cards. The maker lists the roll as safe alongside bumblebee or honeybee pollination and alongside released natural enemies. It is used routinely in tomato and pepper, strawberry and raspberry, chrysanthemum and rose, and in nursery stock and propagation. Common Culture recommends putting it up from planting, before pest numbers have a chance to build. Running a Yellow Sticky Trap Roll Between Posts and Along Rows The standard install strings the tape between greenhouse posts or trellis wires, running parallel to the crop. Extra runs go across entrances and vents, where new whitefly and aphids arrive. Set the height to suit the target pest and the crop. Whitefly adults gather near the growing tips, so the band does most of its work level with or just above the heads. Tomato houses commonly hang one ribbon per trellis line as a preventive layer, then add more along rows where hot spots appear. The narrower width is the everyday choice, because it shades the crop less across long runs. The wider tape belongs where catching volume matters more than light, such as a known hot spot or a perimeter line. A ribbon holder or tensioned wire keeps the band straight, since a sagging tape folds onto itself and onto leaves. Wear gloves when unrolling, and cut the tape against a clean surface rather than in mid-air. Counting catches on a marked section each week shows whether the line is still pulling its weight. Key Features Continuous tape on a flanged core: One roll lays out long trap lines without the gaps a row of cards leaves between stations. Two widths in one listing: The narrower roll suits everyday row lines, while the wider one carries more catch surface for hot spots. Whitefly-tuned yellow: The shade was selected for whitefly catch, with aphids, thrips, fungus gnats and leaf miner flies taken as well. Pollinator and biocontrol compatible: The maker rates it safe with bumblebees, honeybees and released natural enemies, so it can stay up through a biological program. Barrier as well as lure: Strung across entrances and along rows, the band intercepts pests moving through the house. Wide crop range: Used routinely in fruiting vegetables, soft fruit, cut flowers, nursery stock and propagation houses.
