Botanicare Rack Tray 4 x 8 ft. Fits 42 x 96 in Pallet Racking, 16 Prop Flats

How the Botanicare Rack Tray Sits on a Shelf This 4 by 8 ft tray is built to sit directly on standard pallet racking or shelving that measures 42 in wide by 96 in long. It lies flat on the beams, and a trough along one side hangs slightly over the edge. That trough gathers runoff and carries it to a bulkhead recess, so water leaves the deck without tilting or shimming the tray. No special adapters or custom rack hardware are needed. The growing surface takes sixteen standard 10 x 20 propagation flats. Overall the tray measures about 93 by 49 by 6 in and weighs about 32.5 lb. The 93 in length lets 30 trays stand on edge on a single 40 by 48 in pallet for shipping and storage. It also leaves clearance to slide the tray onto the rack beams. Botanicare credits vertical racking with these trays for cutting a cultivation footprint by up to 50 percent. The manufacturer part number is HGC707328. Planning a Rack With a Pallet Racking Tray on Each Level A pallet racking tray makes the most sense where a building has height but little floor. Propagation rooms, mother rooms and microgreen operations gain the most from stacking. Confirm that the racking has the standard depth before ordering, since other beam spacing leaves the trough unsupported. Plan one tray per shelf and one drain line per tray. Run each bulkhead into a shared header so every level drains to the same place. Leave enough vertical room between tiers for the crop, the lights and a hand reaching in. Load flats from the aisle side so the trough edge stays clear. Check the deck after the first irrigation to confirm water reaches the bulkhead without pooling. Clean trays between cycles, following Botanicare's tray cleaning guide. Actual floor savings depend on ceiling height and the number of tiers in the rack. Key Features Fits standard racking: 42 x 96 in pallet racking or shelving. Overhanging trough: Collects runoff and directs it to a bulkhead recess. No standing water: Drains without tilting or shimming the tray. Sixteen prop flats: Holds sixteen 10 x 20 flats per tier. No adapters needed: Sits flat on the beams. 93 in length: Palletizes 30 trays on a 40 x 48 in pallet. Vertical growing: Up to 50 percent smaller footprint, per Botanicare. About 32.5 lb: Lift onto upper tiers with a helper.
