Botanicare 3x6 Tray, OD Black. 36 x 72 in Outside, 6 in Deep, 56 gal

How the Botanicare 3x6 Tray Is Sized and Built OD stands for outside dimension, and this tray measures 36 by 72 by 6 in from edge to edge. It sits in the exact footprint its name gives, which is the number that matters on a fixed bench or in a tent. The inside floor measures 33.25 by 69.25 in with a depth of 5.875 in. Filled to the rim it holds 56 gallons. A diagonal drainage grid runs the floor and steers water toward the drain fittings. The shell is black ABS with a core of 90 percent recycled plastic under a virgin, UV-resistant cap layer. Black plastic keeps light off standing solution, which helps hold algae back. Botanicare makes these trays in the USA using renewable solar energy. The tray carries Botanicare part number 707342. Running a 3x6 Flood Tray on a Bench or in a Tent A 3x6 flood tray suits narrow, long spaces such as a wall-side bench, a center aisle table or a rack shelf. Because the outside measurement matches the nominal size, it also fits a tent of the same floor size. A tray this long needs support under the middle as well as at both ends. Without a center brace, a loaded tray slowly takes a set and holds puddles. Pitch it slightly toward the drain end so the diagonal channels empty fully. The sidewall leaves room for a shallow flood around pots or for collecting runoff under top-fed containers. Fit the drain and fill fittings before setting pots, while the floor is still easy to reach. Move the tray empty, with one person at each end, since its length makes it awkward to carry alone. Rinse and scrub the grid between crops so salts and root debris do not build up in the channels. The outside sizing trades a little inside floor for a perfect fit, so check pot layout against the inside numbers.
