A 12.4 gallon tank and lid, standing 24 in tall and tapering from 14.5 in across the lid to 11 in at the base. With it comes a 1Pot tray and lid, a 3.9 gallon pot, one AQUAvalve and a root control disc. Then the plumbing: a golf filter, a top hat grommet, an inline tap and 5 ft of pipe. That is a working system out of one box, for one plant.
Why a Gravity Fed System Has Nothing to Fail
There is no pump, no timer and no power lead, which removes the three things that usually strand a room over a long weekend. Stand the tank at least 150 mm above the AQUAvalve, about six inches, and the head of water does the rest. The valve floods the tray, waits while the plant draws it down, then refills. Let the plant establish for 7 to 12 days before you open the tap. Top up at roughly one third remaining and never run it dry. Give it 30 to 60 minutes with the tap shut afterwards, so sediment settles instead of travelling. How long a fill lasts is down to the plant rather than the tank. A seedling will sit on this for weeks, and a plant in heavy flower will not.
Key Features
12.4 gallon tank and lid: 24 in tall, tapering from 14.5 in at the lid to 11 in at the base.
3.9 gallon pot and tray: One plant, with the tray free to move as the canopy spreads.
AQUAvalve does the timing: It floods, waits for the plant to draw down, then refills. No schedule to set.
Golf filter and top hat grommet: The filter is what keeps sediment out of the valve, so keep it clean.
Inline tap: Shut the line while you refill or move pots without draining anything.
No power at all: Nothing to trip, nothing to fail while you are away for a weekend.
Extends to many pots: One tank can carry additional 1Pot modules as the room grows.
Match the valve if you expand: AQUAvalve4 runs 1/4 in pipe, AQUAvalve5 runs 3/8 in. They do not mix.
