ARS Curved Scissors SS-320BM. 6 in Angled Carbon Steel Blades

ARS Curved Scissors SS-320BM for Detail Work These ARS scissors carry slim, angled blades that reach into crowded plants without disturbing what is around the cut. The angle keeps your hand back from the foliage while the tips work right at the stem. The blades are high carbon steel, precision ground and Marquench hardened for a keen, long-lasting edge. ARS, short for Always Really Sharp, makes them in Japan. Overall length is about 6 in, compact enough for fine work inside a dense canopy. Soft bow grips wrap the handles and fit left or right hands equally well. The open bow shape spreads pressure across the fingers, which cuts down on fatigue over a long session. Growers use them to pick fruit, remove culls and thin crowded growth in tight spaces. They are a common choice at the propagation bench for taking cuttings and tidying stock plants. They also handle leaf trimming and manicuring, where a narrow tip gets between buds and stems. A light pair like this is easy to keep in a pocket or apron for quick jobs. Working With Fruit Scissors in Tight Spaces Fruit scissors earn their place wherever a full-size pruner is too bulky. Hold them with the angle pointing toward the cut, so the tips reach in while your knuckles stay clear. Make each cut with the base of the blades for thicker stems and the tips for fine leaf work. At the cloning bench, cut cleanly just below a node and drop the cutting straight into gel or water. Wipe the blades with isopropyl alcohol between plants to avoid spreading disease. Sticky residue builds up fast during trimming, so keep a cloth and alcohol within reach. Carbon steel holds an edge well but needs to be dried after cleaning. A light coat of oil before storage keeps the blades from spotting. Never leave them soaking in water or cleaning solution. Store them closed, in a case or sheath, so the tips stay sharp and safe. A pair that stays clean and dry will keep a fine edge across many harvests. Key Features Slim Angled Blades: Reach into crowded plants while keeping the hand clear.
