pH Perfect Micro: Calcium and Trace Metals for the Three-Part Feed Micro is the first bottle into the reservoir in Advanced Nutrients' three-part system. It carries the calcium and trace metals that Grow and Bloom leave out. The label reads 2-0-0, all of it nitrate nitrogen. Calcium sits at 2.4%, magnesium at 0.1%, boron at 0.02%, and iron and manganese at 0.05% each, mostly chelated. Iron arrives through three chelates at once, DTPA, EDDHA and EDTA, plus amino acid complexes that also carry the calcium, magnesium and manganese. A small 0.1% of humic acids and 0.1% surfactant round out the jug. Advanced Nutrients runs it at equal parts with Grow and Bloom. Veg starts at 1 mL/L in week one and climbs to 4 mL/L by week four. Bloom holds at the top rate for every part until the flush. At that bloom rate a 1 L bottle makes about 66 gallons of feed, the 4 L about 264, and the 23 L roughly 1,518. The 57 L and 208 L drums scale that to about 3,764 and 13,736 gallons. Mixing a 3 Part Base Nutrient in the Right Sequence A 3 part base nutrient only works if the parts meet in the right sequence. Micro goes in first and gets stirred through before Grow, then Bloom follows. Pour concentrated Micro straight into concentrated Grow or Bloom and the calcium drops out as a precipitate you cannot get back. Shake each bottle before measuring as well. The pH Perfect side of the system settles the solution into range once all three parts are in. Most growers skip the pH Up and Down bottles entirely as a result. Check it with a meter anyway during the first few reservoirs, especially on unusual tap water. Micro is not a complete feed on its own and was never meant to be. Run it with its Grow and Bloom partners at equal doses and stop all three for the final flush. Keep the jugs out of direct light between mixes. Hydro, aeroponics, drip, NFT, flood and drain, DWC and coco all take the same schedule.
