Active Air Carbon Filter 6 x 24 in | 500 CFM, Australian Virgin Carbon

Why the Active Air Carbon Filter 6 x 24 Runs Longer Length is what this filter adds to a 6 in exhaust, and length means more carbon in the air path. It measures 24 in long on a 6 in attached flange and carries a 500 CFM rating. The bed is 1.8 in of machine-packed virgin activated carbon sourced from Australia. Its porous granules adsorb odour-carrying volatile compounds as air is drawn through the cylinder. That is what strips the smell from the exhaust before it leaves the tent. The longer body gives the carbon more surface to work with at higher fan speeds. Powder-coated aluminium ends keep it reasonably light for its size. A pre-filter sleeve comes fitted to keep dust away from the carbon. Service life runs up to two years, depending on runtime and room humidity. Boxed, it measures 11 x 11 x 26 in and ships at about 19.3 lb. The flange matches standard duct and fan collars of the same size. Where a 6x24 Carbon Filter Fits Best A 6x24 carbon filter is the pick when a fan of that duct size has to run hard under a strong light. Keep the fan at or below the filter's rating so the air spends enough time in contact with the carbon. A variable-speed fan helps here, since it can step up during late flower when smell peaks. Hang the filter horizontally along the top of the tent if the height is short, or vertically where there is space. Pull air through it, with the fan downstream, to keep the motor clean. Rinse the pre-filter under running water every few weeks and let it dry before refitting. Sustained humidity above about 70% wears the carbon down faster. Plan for its length when mapping out the tent, since it needs real hanging room and can crowd a low ceiling. Once odour starts escaping at normal fan speed, swap in a fresh filter. Run correctly, it lets a single exhaust line handle a busier tent without smell drifting out. Check the straps at every filter change, since the extra length puts more load on them. Key Features 500 CFM rating: Handles a 6 in fan running near the top of its speed range. 24 in length: More carbon in the air path for longer contact time. 1.8 in virgin carbon bed: Australian granular carbon adsorbs odour compounds. Pre-filter included: Rinseable sleeve protects the carbon from dust. Up to 2 years of life: Long service with controlled humidity.
