Active Air Carbon Filter 6 x 16 in | 400 CFM, Australian Virgin Carbon

What the Active Air Carbon Filter 6 x 16 Brings to a Tent Six-inch ducting is the most common size in tent grows, and this filter is built around it. It measures 16 in long, carries a 6 in attached flange and is rated at 400 CFM. Inside sits a 1.8 in bed of virgin activated Australian carbon, machine packed for an even layer. The granules adsorb the volatile compounds that carry odour, so the air leaving the fan smells of nothing much. The short body leaves extra room above the canopy for lights and plant stretch. Tops and bases are powder-coated aluminium, which keeps the weight down when it hangs from a tent bar. A pre-filter sleeve comes fitted to stop dust and pollen clogging the carbon surface. Expected life runs up to two years, with humidity and runtime deciding where in that range it lands. Boxed, it measures 11 x 11 x 17.9 in and ships at about 13 lb. That makes it a one-person job to hang and swap. Running a 6 Inch Carbon Filter in a 4 x 4 A 6 inch carbon filter of this length suits a 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 tent, especially when lights already eat into the headroom. Pair it with an inline fan of matching duct size, running at or under the filter's rating. A speed controller makes it easy to dial in. Pulling air through the filter toward the fan is the usual layout, and it keeps the fan motor away from the dirtiest air. Hang it high in a corner so it collects the warmest air without shading the canopy. Check the pre-filter every few weeks and rinse it when it greys, letting it dry before refitting. Keep relative humidity in check during late flower, because damp air shortens carbon life. Short ducts with gentle bends keep the fan's real airflow close to its label figure. When the room smells despite steady airflow, the carbon has reached its limit and needs replacing. Hot two-light setups usually need more airflow than its rating allows. For a single-light tent, it keeps the smell where it belongs. Key Features 400 CFM rating: Pairs with common 6 in inline fans at moderate speed. Short 16 in body: Saves headroom in tents with tall plants or big fixtures. 1.8 in Australian carbon bed: Virgin granular carbon adsorbs odour molecules. Fitted pre-filter: Keeps dust off the carbon for a longer working life. Light aluminium ends: Easy to hang from a tent bar with straps.
