Each shelf carries its own 300 W heater, its own probe and its own controller. Heat therefore arrives through the shelf the material is sitting on. Conduction beats warming a wall and waiting for still air to move that heat around. Shelf surfaces run 22 x 23.25 in each, and they sit 4.5 in apart. Optional stackable shelves halve that gap and double the loading area. Each shelf takes up to 20 lb. Third-generation low proportional gain controllers hold setpoint to within 1 F.
