Lineage Grapefruit strain Grapefruit is a cannabis strain that leans heavily toward the sativa side, known for its potent head high and uplifting effects, often described as a mood boost with a sense of euphoria. It is usually categorized as a 70% Sativa / 30% Indica hybrid, which means users can expect the stimulating, mood-boosting effects typical of sativas rather than the calming, body-heavy sensations of indica varieties. Grapefruit is derived from Cinderella99, and it tends to show a berry, fruity, sweet and tropical flavor with a bright, sativa-leaning high. It also carries a Medium THC of 15% – 19%, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a happy experience with a good dose of energy. Origin This feminized strain, primarily a Sativa, has been developed by renowned seed banks in both America and Europe, celebrated for their pioneering work in cannabis genetics. Grapefruit’s exact lineage remains something of a mystery, but American breeders focused on enhancing its energizing effects and sweet, citrusy aroma, making it a favorite among Sativa enthusiasts. European breeders have also contributed to the strain’s development, helping it keep its potent effects and unique flavor profile. The result is a variety beloved for its uplifting qualities and consistent performance in cultivation. Grapefruit Strain Awards Grapefruit earned 3rd Place, Outdoor at Spannabis 2011, one of Europe’s most prestigious cannabis competitions. This podium finish highlights its reliable performance in full-season outdoor cultivation, with vigorous growth, structural stability and consistent flower development under natural conditions. Recognition in the Outdoor category confirms Grapefruit’s genetic resilience and field adaptability. Its solid resin production, well-defined terpene profile and dependable yields reinforce its reputation as a competitively proven, reliable outdoor variety. Grapefruit Sativa or Indica? Grapefruit is predominantly a Sativa (70% Sativa / 30% Indica). Sativa strains are known for their uplifting, energizing effects, and Grapefruit is a perfect example: it provides a stimulating, cerebral high that is ideal for daytime use and activities that call for creativity and focus. It also shows classic Sativa characteristics, including tall, slender growth and narrow leaves. Those traits, along with its energizing effects, confirm its Sativa dominance. Users can expect a vibrant, mentally stimulating experience that promotes positivity and mental clarity, a popular choice for anyone seeking an active, uplifting high. Grapefruit Strain Effects The effects of Grapefruit are predominantly energizing and uplifting, an excellent option for anyone seeking a boost in mood and creativity. Users often report a surge of happy euphoria and heightened mental clarity that enhances focus and productivity. The strain is particularly well suited to daytime use, offering a bright experience that combats fatigue and lifts the spirit. It is also known for helping to ease anxiety, depression and migraines, providing a clear-headed, positive experience. The combination of mental stimulation and a touch of relaxation makes Grapefruit a versatile choice, ideal for staying active and inspired throughout the day. Germinating Grapefruit seeds It is important to germinate your weed seeds carefully if you want to have a healthy harvest from day one. Although there are several methods to germinate our Feminized cannabis seeds, at Blimburn Seeds, we recommend our customers to follow our easy and simple technique. Before removing our Grapefruit seeds from their packaging, remember that cannabis seeds are alive and delicate. Our hands are full of bacteria that can easily infect seeds and ruin our germination. Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location. Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing. Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-90ºF in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 7. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them. Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products. Grapefruit Seeds Flowering Time Grapefruit typically flowers in about 8 to 10 weeks. This moderate window lets the plant fully develop its dense, resinous buds while keeping a strong, citrus-rich terpene profile. Growers appreciate the relatively short flowering period, which delivers a high-quality yield within a reasonable timeframe. The strain is also known for its resilience and adaptability, which makes it suitable for growers of all experience levels. Good resistance to pests and disease, combined with a manageable flowering time, ensures a smooth grow. Whether you are a novice or an experienced cultivator, Grapefruit promises a rewarding, fruitful harvest. How to grow Grapefruit strain seeds? Grapefruit strain seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, to avoid any problems during their development. Although they are compact, robust and moderately easy to grow, we should always prevent any pests. You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your Feminized Grapefruit buds. Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention. Thanks to the experience of our customers with our Feminized Grapefruit seeds, we know that we can increase yields by up to 20%. For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds advises wide, vertical spaces and the use of the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and increase the size of the lower flowers. If you plan to grow our Feminized seeds outdoors, we have developed a grow guide for optimal cultivation in any area of the world. Remember that our cannabis plants also need good nutrients as seedlings, in their vegetative period and finally in their flowering period. When you grow outdoors, choose the best date for your crop and a place where the plants receive the most hours of sunshine. If you prefer to grow indoors, use good tents, textile pots, led lighting, an air extractor to circulate clean air and, of course, a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law. Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉ and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day. Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive. Keep relative humidity (RH) at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% during flowering and to about 30% by harvest. Outdoors, breeders in the northern hemisphere should sow their cannabis seeds in April for harvest in mid October. Healthy Feminized Grapefruit seeds produce about 21 – 24 oz/plant | 600 – 700 gr/plant of buds each. Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 8 – 10 weeks and produce about 1.31 oz/ft² | 400 gr/m². Perfect Climate for Cultivating Grapefruit
